The nine judges of the Supreme Court are back at the helm, while the shock wave caused by their latest decisions has not yet passed.

There was the

end of the right to abortion

,

less restrictive laws on weapons,

or even less climate-friendly measures, decisions that clearly tarnished the image of a Supreme Court supposed to be apolitical, to the point that according to the latest polls, more than half of Americans no longer trust these magistrates.

Never seen.

Decisions that will affect democracy

With six conservative judges and three progressives, the instance has clearly veered to the right.

Which makes many Americans fear this new season.

As of this Monday, the Court will begin examining a question which risks affecting the power of the federal government to fight against pollution.

Tuesday 4 will be the turn of a case related to the Voting Rights Act, which has protected the right to vote of African Americans and minorities for nearly 60 years.

Also on the agenda are issues related to the equal rights of LGBTQ communities or the power of states in the organization and validation of elections.

This new season promises decisions that will profoundly affect American democracy.
