A bipartisan delegation of the German Bundestag met with President Tsai Ing-wen on a visit to Taiwan and said, "If Taiwan is threatened by force, we will stand up to help."

Six bipartisan members of the German Bundestag are visiting Taiwan and met with President Tsai at the Presidential Office on the 3rd.



President Tsai said that when China conducted large-scale military exercises on the pretext of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan in August, the foreign ministers of the G7 = seven major countries issued a statement on maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. He touched on the announcement and conveyed his gratitude to Germany for coordinating the statement as the chair country.



Rep. Wilsch of the opposition Christian Democratic Union, who leads the delegation, said, "The German Bundestag favors cooperation and exchanges, especially diplomatic relations, with Taiwan." And in the discussion, he said that if Taiwan is threatened by force, we will stand up to support Taiwan."



Even after China showed strong opposition to Speaker Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, parliamentarians and others from various countries visited one after another. "These countries demonstrated their unwavering support for Taiwan in action," he said.
