After the tensions of the weekend, life resumes its normal course in Ouagadougou.

If the French institutions targeted by acts of vandalism remain closed until further notice, shops and many services have reopened and the start of the school year has taken place as planned, the children have returned to school this morning.

Calm has returned to the capital.

Schools have reopened.

The start of the school year scheduled for October 3 has been maintained.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré had requested it from the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education.

Many parents were able to accompany their children to schools.

The students are happy to meet their classmates.

There are no more barricades in the streets of Ouagadougou.

The defense forces who had squared the perimeter around the Radiodiffusion-Télévision du Burkina Faso (RTB).

The Avenue de l'Indépendance has regained its atmosphere with the roar of the engines.

Police and road traffic volunteers regulate traffic to avoid long traffic jams.

French services employees stay at home

In front of the various bank counters, there are long queues.

The central market and other major markets are open.

Shops on the outskirts of the main arteries have raised their curtains and traders are commenting on the events of this weekend.

The service stations that had closed their pumps during the events are functional again.

Around the French services, there is no presence of specific security forces.

All French services are closed following violent demonstrations and looting near the embassy.

All employees of the Embassy, ​​the French Institute, the Lycée Français de Ouagadougou and other French services are asked to stay at home until further notice.
