The vigilant pharmacist was not fooled.

On September 28, a man presented himself at the counter of his pharmacy, in Albi, in the Tarn, with a prescription prescribing a treatment for the treatment of cancer.

An expensive drug, fully reimbursed by health insurance and it is necessary to order.

The pharmacist therefore asks the “patient” to come back the next day to pick him up.

And, once the man has left, decides to take a closer look at this prescription which looks like a fake document, including the prescribing doctor who doesn't exist.

The apothecary goes to the police station to lodge a complaint.

Four other orders

And the next day, when the 35-year-old man, already known for fraud, shows up at the pharmacy, the police are present to arrest him.

A search is then conducted at his home.

The police discover four other prescriptions there, all "signed by the same imaginary doctor", indicates the Tarn police on its Facebook page.

While in police custody, the fake patient told investigators that he had been contacted “via email” by a person telling him that he could make money quickly thanks to this scam.

He will have to explain himself in January 2023 before the Tarn justice.
