In 2021, the container throughput of Yangshan Port will exceed 22.8 million TEUs, setting a new historical record, helping Shanghai Port’s container throughput to exceed 47 million TEUs, ranking first in the world for 12 consecutive years.

　　Shanghai Yangshan Deep-water Port is the largest container deep-water port in China and the largest port in the world.

In order to continuously improve operational efficiency and ensure sufficient production capacity, the first, second and third phases of Yangshan Port are fully promoting the automation process and building a smart and efficient port operation management system.

　　The fourth phase of the Yangshan Port automated terminal, which opened in December 2017, is currently the world's largest and most intelligent fully automated container terminal with completely independent intellectual property rights "China Core".

Under the blue seascape, bridge cranes, rail cranes, and AGVs (unmanned guided vehicles) work efficiently and orderly, and the terminal operations are almost empty.

As a pioneering pilot project in the industry, Yangshan Port’s fourth-phase loading and unloading transportation adopts an intelligent system developed by itself. While the labor cost is reduced by 70%, the efficiency is increased by 30%. Therefore, Yangshan Port continues to set new loading and unloading records.
