This is how Piteå municipality should save electricity - seeing the energy consumption

An EU ministerial meeting must decide on concrete measures to curb the soaring energy prices.

The idea is to reduce electricity use by at least ten percent by the end of March 2023.

The property and service administration at Piteå municipality now has a mission to follow up electricity use.

- If we save energy, we save our environment at the same time as we save money.

All Piteå municipality's operations will receive information about their previous electricity use in kWh.

In addition, you get savings targets of ten percent per month.

- If we aim for the stars but only reach the tops of the trees, we have reached a certain distance anyway, says Lundgren.

Fixed several areas

The energy engineer says that several efforts have already been made, but there is still much to do.

- We have "only" picked the low-hanging fruit yet, such as engine heater control, computer shutdown, lighting and ventilation.
