“The UN Special Envoy expresses regret over the failure to reach an agreement to extend the truce for six months, which has been in effect in Yemen since April 2 and significantly eased the situation of the local population,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
Grundberg added that he would continue to work with the parties to the conflict to extend the ceasefire agreement.
In April, Saudi Arabia decided to provide Yemen with $3 billion in emergency economic assistance.
