The four men aged 20 to 24, who were arrested in Marseille earlier this week as part of an investigation into a settling of accounts, were indicted after being presented to an investigating judge on Friday, a source close to the investigation said on Sunday.

They are accused of having killed a 19-year-old young woman during a shooting near a deal point in October 2020. The victim named Sarah was a stranger to the network.

Just like her 17-year-old friend with whom she was at the time of the tragedy.

The two young women were waiting "in a vehicle at the entrance to the buildings" in the Belle-de-Mai district, when they were targeted and machine-gunned, the Marseille prosecutor's office said on Friday.

The youngest had been seriously injured by the bullets.

Three of them imprisoned

Three of the four men were imprisoned and another, aged 24, was released under judicial supervision, a source familiar with the investigation told AFP.

“Very well known to the police and justice services” for drug cases, the suspects were arrested on Tuesday after a “careful investigation by the criminal brigade of the judicial police, in particular by means of telephone investigations and expertise”.
