Glesbygd medical center in Storuman receives attention from WHO

At Glesbygdsmedicinskt centrum in Storuman, research has mainly focused on digital care and health.

- The infirmary model where primary care, emergency department and a care department are located together in the same premises is unique for Storuman and Sweden, says Andreas Lundkvist, unit manager for Rural Medical Center in Storuman.

International visits

Now every year, visitors from different countries will come to Storuman to see how they work.

In total, there will be up to four international visits to Storuman each year.

- I think they will find it very exciting to have a unit that works with quite advanced research and development in sparsely populated areas.

It is quite unique in an international perspective, says Andreas Lundkvist.

The inauguration of the demonstration platform will be at the turn of October-November.

Then a visit with representatives from Georgia is also expected.
