“The EU has proposed to exclude the services of pilots from the sanctions against Russia, which should come into force in December,” RIA Novosti reported.

With the exemption from restrictions, shipowners will be able to hire pilots to guide ships through the Danish straits, which are used to transport crude oil and fuel from Russia.

Earlier, the EU countries reached an initial agreement on a new package of anti-Russian sanctions.

Also, the media reported that the EU plans to impose restrictions on new contracts with the companies Gazprom Neft, Rosneft and Transneft as part of a new package of sanctions.
