Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that the meeting of the Security Council of the World Organization on Sabotage regarding the Nord Stream gas pipeline was overshadowed by the actions of French Permanent Representative Nicolas de Riviere, who chairs the UN Security Council.

“The end of the meeting was overshadowed by a scandal involving the French permanent representative Nicolas de Riviere, who presided.

Apparently, having lost his temper due to the unconvincing criticism of the Western camp regarding our approaches, he, in violation of any norms and practices of the Security Council, did not allow Sergey Kupriyanov, the press secretary of Gazprom, who was invited to the event as a speaker (special thanks to him for his participation and very useful speech) to respond to the incorrect accusations against this company,” Polyansky wrote in his Telegram channel.

By this decision, the French presidency, in his opinion, completely exposed himself, since earlier calls for dialogue and for taking into account other people's opinions were their hallmark: “But when it came down to it, it all came down to a banal attempt to silence the speaker.”

As the diplomat noted, the opponents did not expect that Russia, instead of accusations, would provide undeniable facts and ask "to turn on your head and reason logically."

“Therefore, they looked faded and confused.

The meeting was useful in terms of promoting our approaches and objective information, but left no doubt that the Western members of the council, who have long been living in a world that does not recognize the truth, where it is important not what happens, but how Western people show and interpret it. The media will do everything to roll up a fair and impartial investigation of the SP-1 and SP-2 incidents and promote the absurd logic that Russia is behind the sabotage.

We should not have any illusions about this,” stated the First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.

On September 30, a meeting of the UN Security Council on sabotage against the Nord Stream gas pipeline was held.

During the meeting, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya noted that the incident was of "unconditional" benefit to the United States.

In particular, he cited five facts that indicate who is responsible for what happened.

According to him, Moscow understands that this sabotage was not committed by ordinary terrorists, but that all those involved in the damage to “the most important facility of the energy infrastructure of the Russian Federation” will be definitely identified.

“And finally, before the speech of our American colleague, we, frankly, did not link what happened with Nord Stream to the situation around Ukraine.

Now we see that our Western colleagues perceive this sabotage, whoever committed it, as a kind of revenge for Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Well, I think this statement narrows the circle of suspects and can greatly help us in the investigation, ”he said.

At the same time, Joe Biden's national security aide Jake Sullivan ruled out that any of the NATO countries was responsible for the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

In response, the Russian embassy said that Washington is trying to manipulate public opinion, seeking to “sweep under the carpet” uncomfortable questions about who benefits from sabotage on international gas pipelines connecting Russia and Europe.

Earlier, the official representative of Gazprom, Sergey Kupriyanov, drew attention to the fact that at the time of the emergency, there were about 800 million cubic meters in the three strings of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

m of gas, which is comparable to the consumption of Denmark for three months.

According to him, it is currently impossible to estimate the timing of the resumption of the SP-1 system: “We can say for sure that this is a very difficult technical task.”
