Indonesia, a tragic accident occurred when excited fans broke into a soccer stadium, killing nearly 130 people.

The accident started right after the match ended when fans of the losing team broke into the stadium.



As police rush into the arena to quell them, fans run away all at once in the opposite direction.



The police, who defined the intrusion of fans as a riot, also fired tear gas into the stands to disperse the crowd.



The arena quickly turned to mayhem, and hundreds of people stumbled as those trying to escape rushed to the one and only exit.



In the process, 34 people crushed by the crowd died on the spot, and at least 127 people, including two police officers, were killed, local police said.



There are concerns that the number of injured people who have been transported to a nearby hospital could rise to more than 300.



The Indonesian government apologized to the people and said it would come up with measures to prevent a similar incident from happening again.



The Indonesian Football Association has decided to suspend league matches for one week.
