Yemen... Expectations to announce the extension of the armistice... and militias escalate their violations

Several Yemeni sources expected that the extension of the UN armistice would be announced for the third time in the next few hours, noting that all parties had expressed their tacit and conditional approval of the extension process, which enjoys the support and backing of the international and regional community.

The sources indicated that the Omani efforts will lead to prompting the Houthi militia to agree to extend the truce according to the conditions put forward by the UN envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg, while the Yemeni government has expressed its agreement to extend the truce according to the previous conditions.

The sources indicated that it was agreed to expand flights to Sanaa airport, pay the salaries of employees, and search for a new mechanism to open the roads of Taiz and other Yemeni governorates, while continuing to hold consultations on activating the military monitoring committees on the killer's fronts in order to prevent all violations.

And government sources indicated that they had no objection to the implementation of the salary-disbursement clause in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, which was sponsored by the United Nations itself, noting that "the armistice is in the interest of the Yemeni people and for peace, and it needs everyone to bear responsibility and not to shirk what is agreed upon."

The current truce extension period ends tomorrow, Sunday, October 2, which prompted US, European and Gulf diplomacy to intensify efforts to support the efforts of the UN envoy and the Omani mediation to obtain a new extension and expansion of the truce in Yemen.

In a statement, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the parties to the conflict in Yemen to work to renew and expand the truce that expires on Sunday, according to a proposal by Special Envoy Hans Grundberg, saying: "I strongly urge the parties to seize this opportunity, this is the right moment to build." on the gains made and embarking on the path of resuming an inclusive political process to reach a negotiated settlement to end the conflict."

On the ground, the Houthi militia escalated its violations of the armistice on the fighting fronts during the past few hours, and launched attacks and carried out infiltration attempts towards army and resistance positions on the Maqbna fronts west of Taiz, where 13 violations of the armistice were monitored in Taiz alone, according to the military media of the joint forces on the west coast.

In Lahj, the militias launched a bombardment with marches and heavy artillery on the positions of the southern forces in al-Had Yafa, on the outskirts of al-Bayda governorate, which led to the killing and wounding of 4 soldiers.

In Marib, two soldiers were killed in a militia attack that used booby-trapped marches, which affected the southern front of the governorate, according to field sources, noting that the Houthis bombed army and resistance positions in the eastern Balq, south of Marib, which led to the killing of two soldiers and the injury of three others.

In Shabwa, a soldier was killed and 3 others were injured, as a result of the explosion of an explosive device planted by terrorist elements in the way of a combat vehicle belonging to the Giants forces at the entrance to the city of Ataq, the provincial capital.

While the mines and explosives of the Houthi militia that they left on the battlefronts killed a civilian in the village of Masawara in the Majzar district of Marib, and a woman was wounded in Kitaf Saada, a Houthi gunman in Dhamar killed three people and wounded two from Beit Al Kathiri in Al Hada District, without knowing the reasons.
