On Tuesday, an assault alarm went off at Anneroskolan in Helsingborg, then the school management called the police, who quickly rushed out and were on the scene.

It didn't take long for the police to determine that it was a false alarm.

On Thursday, it was time again – another police operation and another false alarm.

- The police came in droves and we were locked in our classroom.

When they found out that there was nothing, the principal came and said that everything was okay, says the eleven-year-old student Eias Aite.

Shut off alarm buttons

At the school, there are several burglar alarm buttons that were installed about five years ago by the previous management.

After the incident, it was discovered that the school management did not know where two of the buttons were located.

- One problem is that the previous school management was in place when the alarm was installed and then the knowledge of where the buttons are located was not available to the new school management, says Dennis Hjelmström, Helsingborg's preschool and primary school director.

Now the management and the alarm company must review the assault alarm.

Helsingborg's preschool and primary school director, Dennis Hjelmström, says that the events are due to the current school management not having knowledge of where all the assault alarm buttons are located.

Don't know who raised the alarm

During Friday, the school management did not know who had accessed or pressed the assault alarm buttons.

But Dennis Hjelmström is still satisfied with how the false alarm was handled.

- The positive thing is that you have followed the routines on how to behave when an alarm goes off.

The fact that the police come is because the school management has called the police and then they also follow the routines of searching the premises.

It appears very dramatic, but it is a routine procedure, he says.

After the police were alerted to Anneroskolan on two occasions, management, teachers and students have held talks to talk about what happened and why.

Parents must also have been informed about the incident via the school portal.

Now the school will have a discussion about whether the alarm should remain or not.
