It is not easy to delineate the border between Russia and Chechnya, especially when there is a need to fight.

The

Moscow troops bogged down in Ukraine

, against the analysts' predictions and probably the reports drawn up by the Russian secret services, would have liked to end the game in 48 hours.

The

conquest of Kiev from Belarusian soil did not happen

and now "advancing" could result in huge losses.

A complex picture where the sanctions imposed on the Kremlin and on Putin's "circle" weigh: an ax that steals additional time available - in the words of the Russian president - for the "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine".

And so while the table is negotiated,

something moves in the basements in the suburbs of Kiev

.

They are the Kadyrovtsy, the Chechens who answer to Razman Kadyrov, the bloody leader close to Putin who would be in Ivankov, in the nearby outskirts of the Ukrainian capital.

Vladimir Putin with Razman Kadyrov

In a recent, unverifiable video released on Telegram,

Kadyrov appeared in camouflage, in a dark room, discussing strategies for winning the war with his troops

.

Among them also Daniil Martynov, former officer of the special forces of the FSB, the internal secret service, which now trains elite Chechen troops.

The number of Chechens working in Ukraine is unclear but could range from a minimum of 10,000 to 70,000.

In the first days of the war in Ukraine it would have been a

tip from the Russian secret services

(FSB), in which an elite Chechen team in action was announced,

to prevent the killing of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

.

Failed the attempt, the ferocious leader would operate in the field committed to "spur" the troops.

Kadyrov 's

goal is clear and not misunderstood by his words

. Of him: "The other day we were about 20 kilometers from you Nazis, now we are even closer", urging the Ukrainian forces to surrender or "we will finish you".

A direct message for the Ukrainian president and his government.

Kadyrov, son of former president Akhmad Kadyrov, installed in 2000 by Putin at the end of the second Chechen war and assassinated four years later, administers Chechnya (autonomous in exchange for loyalty) with his men -

the infamous 'kadyrovtsy'

.

They are portrayed as a veritable

paramilitary militia in his service

, held responsible for torture, kidnapping and arbitrary arrests as well as active in the persecution of homosexuals.

To the complaint in 2017 documented by the Novaya Gazeta newspaper, Kadyrov replied "there are no gays in Chechnya".

He is suspected of being involved in the death of the opponent and former Russian deputy prime minister, Boris Nemcov, his great critic, murdered in front of the Kremlin.

The "Kadyrovtsy" are part of the Russian offensive in Ukraine and have been sighted several times at the front.

Yet they are not the only Chechens in Ukraine.

Because the veterans of the Chechen wars fight alongside Kiev, ready to vent their hatred against the Russians.

In particular, there are two active units born in 2014 after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.

These are the

Sheikh Mansur battalion

, mostly concentrated in Mariupol, and the

Dzhokhar Dudayev battalion

, led by leader Adam Osmaev, who survived an attack (In which his wife died,

) and accused of conspiring to kill Vladimir Putin.
