Pink October kicks off this Saturday, October 1, and marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A disease that still affects thousands of women in France.

For those who manage to get by, the question of redrawing her breast or her eyebrows may arise.

In Pornic, in Loire-Atlantique, Lucie helps these women to look at themselves in the mirror again.

This Saturday October 1st marks the beginning of Pink October.

A month-long campaign to raise awareness of screening for breast cancer, the deadliest among women.

For those who survive, returning to a normal life is not always easy.

A solution can therefore come about, redrawing her breast or her eyebrows.

This is what a young woman has been offering since 2019 in Pornic, in Loire-Atlantique.

Repair damaged bodies

At the workshop, we don't do tattoos strictly speaking, but it's like: "We're going to come and take all the inks we need with the needle."

Lucie is an aesthetic dermographer and in her office, the patterns drawn on the skin are nothing fancy.

Here, damaged bodies are repaired, in particular women who have had their breasts removed following cancer.

"We call it a 3D reconstruction, so with games of contrasts, of light, we will recreate the whole areola, everything that is the outline, the nipple and the inside, the nipple", she explains.

But it's not just the chest that might need a brush-up.

The eyebrows, which do not always grow back after chemotherapy, are also an essential element.

"It makes the whole facial expression, it really frames the look," remarks Lucie.

"I found a new face"

Catherine realized this painfully when she had surgery for breast cancer in 2019. "There was a little something that was no longer me and when friends tell you 'I don't 'didn't recognize', it hurts a lot. Redoing your eyebrows allows you to look at yourself in a mirror. Now I have found a new face," she smiles.

These designs have a lifespan of up to five years and their cost, up to 350 euros for an areola, is not covered.

Too bad, because the benefits on morale are immense.

"It's as if it were a stage in the past. My cancer is over, I found my areola. It's over", concludes Lucie.

Need.

Lucie Jaccoud is an aesthetic dermograph and in her office, the patterns drawn on the skin are nothing fancy.

Here, damaged bodies are repaired, especially of women who have had blood removed from cancer.

In fact, we call it a 3D reconstruction, so we'll do it.

In fact, with games of contrasts, of light, we are going to recreate the whole areola, therefore everything that is the outline, the nipple and the inside, the nipple.

But it's not just the chest that might need a brush-up.

Eyebrows that do not always grow back after chemotherapy are also an essential element.

It does the whole facial expression, it really frames the look.

Actually Catherine.

There was a little something that wasn't me anymore.

And when friends tell you I didn't recognize you, it hurts a lot.

The fact of redoing the eyebrows, that you can look at yourself in a mirror.

Now I have found a new face.

Speaker 3

It happened that these designs have a lifespan of up to five years and their cost, up to €350 for an areola, is not covered.

Too bad, because the benefits on morale are immense.

It's as if it were a stage in the past.

My cancer is over, I found my areolas.

It's over.
