“We condemn in the strongest terms the violence against our diplomatic missions in Burkina Faso... We call on all parties concerned to ensure their security in accordance with international conventions,” the agency said in a statement.

Earlier, Le Faso reported that a military coup took place in Burkina Faso, as a result of which Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba was overthrown.

As noted, the coup was led by Captain Ibrahim Traore.

Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso Alexei Saltykov reported that there were no casualties among the Russians during the events in the country.
