Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the 30th local time that "the only way to restore peace is to expel the occupiers from the entire territory and strengthen Ukraine".

Russian President Vladimir Putin made this remark in a speech to the nation after signing a treaty of annexation with occupied territories in Ukraine.

In an annexation treaty speech, Putin insisted on stopping military action and talking to Ukraine, which he dismissed.

"Ukraine has always led negotiating efforts," Zelensky said.

"Putin doesn't know what dignity and honesty is," he said.

As long as Putin is president, he has drawn the line that he will not negotiate with Russia.

President Zelensky also called for expedited progress in the NATO membership process.

When Russia invaded Ukraine in February, it used the pretext that Ukraine's push to join NATO was a threat to its national security.

Ukraine was in the position of giving up its NATO membership for the sake of a ceasefire right after it was invaded by Russia.
