The firefighters were strongly mobilized Thursday afternoon in Loire-Atlantique.
Within hours, three people died in road accidents.
The first took place around 1:30 p.m. in La Marne, in the south of the department.
A head-on collision between two vehicles claimed the life of a man in his 50s.
The collision injured two 84-year-olds.
A little later in the afternoon, the firefighters intervened in Carquefou after an accident between a motorcycle and a car, around 5 p.m.
A 38-year-old man died and a 16-year-old girl was injured.
An hour later, a third death was noted after a "violent shock" between a van and a car, this time in Plessé.
This accident also resulted in three minor injuries.
As of September 1, 35 people had lost their lives since the start of 2022 on the roads of Loire-Atlantique, according to a count from the prefecture.
