The ministry also announced France's support for new EU sanctions against Russia.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed agreements on the accession of these regions to Russia.

The head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that a new federal district would be created in Russia after the annexation of the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
