After Annie Lööf (C) announced her resignation as party leader of the Center Party, the first person now announces her candidacy for the post, writes Dagens Nyheter.

The candidate for the party leader position is Emma Wiesner, MEP for the Center Party.

She thinks the Center Party has lost in the party's substantive issues.

- If we look at the election results, we have not managed to communicate our solutions well enough to the voters, says Emma Wiesner to DN.

In a debate article on Liberaldebatt this week, Wiesner wrote about how she thinks it is important to pursue liberal policy, rather than being against other parties.

SVT has previously reported that several center party members want to see Helena Lindahl, Member of Parliament for the Center Party, as the new party leader.

Several voices from within the party think that the party has ended up on a course that is too values-driven.

SVT has searched for Emma Wiesner, who writes in a text message that on Friday she has informed the party that she is running.

"The process going forward is owned by the election committee and the Center Party's districts and members who nominate candidates.

The Center Party faces an important task of developing our role as Sweden's only liberal, bourgeois and green party, a development I intend to contribute to in the short term within the framework of the post-election analysis group."
