Saturday's weather looks grim: the weather will be autumnal, wet and often overcast over a large part of the country, except in the Mediterranean regions, which will benefit from good sunshine, according to Météo France in Toulouse.

After the rainy passage of the night from the west to the northeast of the country, still present in the morning in Alsace, overcast weather will persist during the day over a large central part of the country.

Between the Loire and the Garonne, intermittent rains will circulate in the morning, will become rare in the afternoon but the sky will remain overcast.

Calmer weather from Brittany to the Paris Basin

Light to moderate rainfall will follow one another further east, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, southern Lorraine, and to a lesser extent the Massif Central and Rhône-Alpes.

The air will be mild, the rain-snow limit will rise to around 3,000 m.

The westerly wind will be sensitive, up to 70 km / h on the heights, especially in Auvergne and the Vosges.

From Brittany to the Paris basin, the weather will be calmer, the sky will alternate between cumulus clouds and sunny spells.

A few showers will be triggered along the Channel and the Belgian border.

In the afternoon, the sky will cloud over again in the North-West, it will rain in northern Brittany and then Normandy at the end of the day.

Dry weather over a southern third of the country

On a small southern third of the country, the weather will be dry.

The sky will be very cloudy in the morning over the South-West, except for the clear Pyrenean relief.

South of the Garonne, after dissipation of a few banks of morning fog, the sun will prevail in the afternoon.

The Mediterranean regions will benefit from good sunshine.

Mistral and tramontane will weaken but the westerly wind will blow quite strongly on the Var coast and Corsica, up to 90 km/h at peaks.

Overall temperatures will be close to normal.

The minimums will range from 6 to 10 degrees over the eastern half of the country, from 10 to 14 in the west and along the Mediterranean.

The maximums vary between 16 and 20 degrees in the northeast quarter and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, between 19 and 23 in the west and between 22 and 26 degrees near the Mediterranean.
