On September 30, local time, the Royal Mint of the United Kingdom announced the portrait of King Charles III that will appear on the coin.

  The portrait is the work of British sculptor Martin Jennings and was personally approved by Charles III.

  Jennings said his piece was sculpted from a photograph of Charles and was "the smallest piece" he had ever created.

In a statement, the Royal Mint said that in the coming months, a portrait of Charles will begin appearing on coins in circulation, as well as some commemorative pieces.
