The staff, the residents and their relatives are tired of the recurring problems with bedbugs at the shelter in Boden.
During the time that the cleaning company Nomor has heat-treated ten rooms, the residents were evacuated to temporary housing.
Last week they gave the green light for a move back in, but the problems continue.
"Now there must be an end to the lice"
On September 18, it turned out that another room on another floor was affected by bedbugs, so now it's time for cleaning again.
- We were so happy at first, but then the new negative news came and I suffer with the residents and their relatives.
They think this is a lot of trouble and now it must be over with these lice.
We're going to get rid of them, says Marie-Helene Ståhl, operations manager for elderly care in Boden municipality.
The staff is specially trained
On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, the municipality and the cleaning company will hold a special training session with the staff on how to handle the blood-sucking insects.
- We must work with awareness and routines.
Among other things, it is about how we should act so as not to unknowingly spread bed bugs, if we are affected by it again.
So we can hope that we can have a little more peace in the future, says Marie-Helene Ståhl.
