He noted that he does not know of an example that the UN Security Council has ever adopted resolutions directly condemning one of the members of the council.

Nebenzya asked to clarify whether a number of UN members seriously believe that Russia can consider and support such a project.

“And if not, then it turns out that you deliberately bring us under the use of the right of veto, in order to then rant about the fact that Russia is abusing it,” the diplomat said.

According to him, such openly hostile actions on the part of the West are a refusal to interact and cooperate in the UN Security Council.

“This is nothing more than a base provocation with a goal that is clear to everyone,” the permanent representative said.

Earlier it was reported that Moscow had vetoed a draft resolution of the UN Security Council that did not recognize the results of referendums in the four regions that had joined Russia.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed agreements on the accession of these regions to Russia.

Putin said that residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions made an unambiguous choice during the referenda.
