The official Fatwa Center, affiliated with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, confirmed that it is not correct to perform Friday prayers at home among family members, explaining that in such a case, the noon prayer must be performed four times at home, instead of “Friday.”

Is it permissible to perform Friday prayers inside the house between family members, so that the head of the family addresses its members and leads them in prayer?”

- The Friday prayer has conditions if it is not met, then its prayer is not valid, and one of these conditions is the congregational mosque, and accordingly it is not valid for Friday prayer to be prayed in homes. (In a mosque): It is not valid in homes, or in the outskirts of the earth, or in a khan, or in the spaciousness of a house.”

The center stated that the obligation of Friday falls from the one who prevented him and it from a compelling circumstance, such as the current circumstances (the outbreak of the “Corona” virus) and he has the reward. And on it he died, and on it the hour arises, and there is no animal that does not cry out on Friday, from when it fades until the tongue comes out in vain, from the hour except for the jinn and men, and in it there is an hour that God does not give anything to my Muslim slave who asks him while he is praying.”

The center said: “On Friday, it is desirable to read Surat Al-Kahf, and to pray a lot of blessings and peace upon the Messenger of God, according to the hadith of Aws bin Aws Al-Thaqafi, that the Prophet said: “One of your best days is Friday, so increase your prayers for me on it” (Sunan Abi Dawood). It is also desirable to make many supplications, in the hope of agreeing to the hour of response.”

Regarding the ruling on Friday prayer, the Official Center for Fatwas, affiliated with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, stated that it is an individual obligation imposed by God on the resident male taxpayer, who is free of excuses, because God Almighty says: “O you who believe, when the call to prayer is called on the day of Friday And leave off the sale; that is better for you if you only knew” (Al-Jumu’ah: 19), and he, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Riyam al-Jumu’ah is obligatory for every one who has had a wet dream” (Sunan al-Nasa’i and al-Bayhaqi).

He pointed out that the first time for Friday is when the sun passes its zenith like noon.

(Sahih Al-Bukhari), if the time ends, you will pray noon, and whoever misses the Friday prayer will pray noon.
