A coalition that calls itself "New Start Köping" takes over the governance of Köping municipality after the election.

With 26 seats, SD, M, L, KD and VfiK (Ordinary people in Köping) have their own majority in the municipal council.

The opposition with S, V and C collects 23 mandates.

This means that the Social Democrats are no longer in the majority in the municipality, for the first time in Köping's democratic history.

The four parties in the new municipal board have so far only agreed that they should govern together.

Exactly what the forms will look like is not entirely clear, but the parties will draw up a program for what they will prioritize during the mandate period.

The real change of power only takes place after the new year, when Maria Liljegren (SD) takes over as chairman of the municipal board.

In the video, you get to meet parts of the new board in Köping, and hear about why they agree on a change of power.
