• Interview Javier Fernández-Lasquetty: "The Government uses the crisis and the war in Ukraine to carry out fiscal authoritarianism"

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has charged against the Government's tax on large fortunes that will tax net wealth of more than three million, which she has branded as "authoritarian" and "marketing operation" that "will scare " to the heritage and companies of Spain.

This is how the regional president responded after the presentation of the Platinum Awards when asked if her Executive will appeal this tribute announced by the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero.

Ayuso has insisted that -- as his Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, Javier Fernández-Lasquetty, advanced -- they will study whether it invades regional powers, in which case it will be "forced" to take it to court for interfering in the "fiscal capacity and autonomy" of the region.

"We will see what this euphemism of solidarity tax consists of. This Government makes what it does authoritarian and sloppy but it covers it with words that sound good. We will see how it is written and if it invades powers and causes the damage that it will cause as an effect, the Community will be forced to go to court and appeal it," the president launched.

On the damage that he anticipates that it will cause, he has slipped that it seems that the Spanish Government has "colluded" with that of Portugal - also led by socialists - to "scare away companies and assets".

He also understands that what should be done is a "generalized tax cut", especially for those who "need it most".

He considers that the tax reduction on income of less than 20,000 euros "leaves behind" people and has questioned whether those who earn

20,000 or 30,000 euros

do not need help .

"I would like to know if those who are charging 20,000 or 30,000 euros are not in a complicated situation so that their government, which is rich in taxes, cannot make a saving gesture and be on their side (...) This is lowering them a little to some to upload them to others. It is a covert tax increase that they call solidarity", has disfigured the regional leader, who has reproached the National Executive for "covering euphemisms" the measure to "not recognize that they do what the government tells them PP which is to lower taxation".

"popular pressure"

Along the same lines, he has asserted that this initiative by the Montero ministry responds to the fact that autonomies such as Andalusia "have shown that taxes can be lowered" and that if Catalonia had done so "nothing would have happened", but that by executing it the PP governments have announced this measure that will cause "the horror of expelling the patrimony".

“It is not the first time that it has happened. When the courts did not agree with them in the pandemic for illegally closing Madrid, they made other similar decisions,” Díaz Ayuso asserted.

The president has made ugly that "ten days ago they seriously insulted" the national president of the PP,

Alberto Núñez Feijóo

, for proposing a tax cut to "then do it."

For her, this strategy responds to the fact that the socialist barons are "receiving a strong response in the street" in which a tax reduction is demanded of them and that it is this "popular pressure" that has made them understand that "they do nothing more than the clumsy turning his back on reality".

"It is senseless that this government covers itself and also wastes everyone's money without any control. What it has to do is listen to the citizens of the street who ask for help," concluded Díaz Ayuso.
