Abu Dhabi Health Authority launches a grant for research and innovation in health care

The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has launched the first version of the Healthcare Research and Innovation Grant, which represents financial funding aimed at supporting research and innovation efforts by healthcare professionals to advance the sector in the emirate.

The grant aims to enhance competitiveness and innovation within the healthcare system in Abu Dhabi, encourage the development of pioneering research projects, and launch innovative products, technologies and services, within healthcare facilities and institutions in the emirate.

The department stated that the grant contributes to consolidating its vision of strengthening a world-class system for the healthcare sector, enriching research and innovation efforts between healthcare providers and innovators, enriching the momentum of clinical research, and developing intellectual property innovations in Abu Dhabi.

The grant will support researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs working in the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi, encouraging them to find effective solutions to the most pressing challenges within two main tracks, covering cardiovascular diseases, cancer, Alzheimer’s, rare diseases, emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, as well as innovations. Oriented towards smart hospitals, chronic disease prevention and management.

The grant will support researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as healthcare facilities looking to make a positive, sustainable footprint in the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi.

The Executive Director of the Research and Innovation Center in the Department of Health, Dr. Asmaa Al-Mannai, said that the department seeks to activate the role of innovators and researchers and to enable them to assume their constructive role in society, and to fully unleash and advance the energies of their projects.
