Yemeni diplomatic sources said that the intransigence of the Houthi militia over the terms of extending and expanding the truce threatens to sabotage international and international efforts in this regard, noting that this was reflected in the urgent departure of the UN envoy to Yemen, Sanaa, hours after her visit and meeting with Houthi leaders.

The sources added, that the militias put before the UN envoy Hans Grünbeberg the condition of disbursing salaries by the Yemeni government, to obtain its approval to extend the truce, without referring to the UN proposal that includes opening Taiz roads, expanding flights to and from Sanaa airport, and increasing the movement of ships to the port of Hodeidah.

She explained that the militias' disregard for the UN proposal for the second time, and their refusal to openly open Taiz roads, prompted the UN envoy to leave Sanaa urgently, which threatens to undermine the calm efforts led by the United Nations, the United States, the European Union, and the regional community.
