Editor's note:

85 years ago, the American journalist and author Edgar Snow wrote a book Red Star Over China after observing the arduous struggle of the Chinese Communists, which caused a sensation among Western readers.

In the vicissitudes of life in 1985, the red star in Snow's writings not only illuminated China, but also impressed the world with the shining light of the East.

On the occasion of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in order to let history illuminate the future and let the world understand China better, China News Network launched a series of reports on "Why Red Stars Shine in China", inviting celebrities, expert think tanks and overseas Chinese to discuss China Ten Years of great changes, looking forward to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the future development of China.

Cui Qingfeng went to South Korea in 2009 and worked as a Chinese writer and reporter for the Seoul Transportation Station in South Korea. He is currently the president of the China Youth Federation in Korea.

He said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is about to be held, and the overseas Chinese are full of confidence in China's future; with the backing of their ancestral (home) country, the overseas Chinese will be more calm and confident in the country they live in.

As the head of the overseas Chinese group, he hopes that he can unite the hearts and strengths of overseas Chinese, continue to do practical and good deeds for the overseas Chinese in South Korea, and continue to build bridges for the promotion of cultural exchanges and friendly cooperation between China and South Korea.
