“We attribute this to the indecisive position of Germany in relation to the conflict in Ukraine,” said study author Gezine Weber.

According to the study, the number of Poles who consider Germany a reliable partner has decreased by 15% compared to last year.

In the US, 59% of respondents consider Germany a reliable partner, down 9% from 2021.

At the same time, 43% of respondents in Turkey expressed confidence in the reliability of Germany, compared to 54% a year earlier.

In early September, it was reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was not going to approve the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Later, Scholz told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Germany would continue to support Kyiv.
