The police dog Rafale helped arrest a suspect who was trying to escape the police, this Tuesday in the Pyrénées-Orientales.

Around 10 p.m., border police officers (PAF) tried to check a vehicle coming from Spain at the exit of the A9 motorway.

But the driver and his passenger refused to comply, says the department's police in a Facebook post relayed by France 3 Occitanie.

The vehicle was finally located by a crew from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) in Perpignan.

Again, the driver tried to flee but he ended his race by hitting a roundabout.

The two occupants then tried to escape the police by running.

In vain.

The driver was arrested.

The passenger, he hid in the thickets.

But the dog Rafale flushed him out and the man was arrested by the canine brigade.

Obviously, the two suspects had a good reason to flee.

The police found 210 kg of cannabis resin in the vehicle.

This is not the first successful intervention of the dog Rafale.

Last December, he disarmed a man brandishing an ax in the Saint-Assiscle district of Perpignan.
