The Ertzaintza detains one of its patrolmen in Bilbao who kept 54 kilos of cocaine in his home

An Ertzaintza agent stationed at the Bilbao police station has been arrested by his own colleagues who have located

at his home .

The arrest of this patrolman and an alleged accomplice is part of an anti-drug operation initiated by the Ertzaintza internal affairs headquarters.

According to police sources, the Basque policeman was arrested in Galdakao at a time when he was with one of his alleged accomplices.

In the month of May 2021, the Civil Guard arrested an ertzaina attached to the

service of the Basque police in a macro anti-drug operation in Medina del Campo.

In addition, a Spaniard with a prison record in Colombia and an Algerian citizen were also arrested, completing the list of prisoners in the device led by the Portuguese police, all of them between 40 and 50 years of age.

The detainees controlled more than 40 tons of coal impregnated with cocaine, in 1,200 bags of between 30 and 40 kilos each that were found north of the Valladolid town.
