Prime Minister Kishida has indicated that he will create a new support system and include concrete plans in the comprehensive economic measures to be compiled next month in order to ease the burden on households and companies when electricity prices rise sharply.

On the 29th, Prime Minister Kishida responded to an interview with reporters at the Prime Minister's official residence regarding the rise in electricity bills against the backdrop of soaring energy prices. It has risen by 30% since then, and is a serious burden on both households and businesses."



He also said, "Looking ahead to the protracted conflict in Ukraine, the natural gas market continues to soar, and a further rise in electricity prices is inevitable. “There is a possibility that the price will go up,” he said.



In addition, he announced his intention to create a new support system in order to alleviate the burden on households and companies in the event of a sharp rise in electricity prices, and indicated his intention to include specific plans in the comprehensive economic measures to be compiled next month.
