The pension reform plans to raise the legal retirement age to 64 or 65 years.

A measure that makes the unions of France react this Thursday.

During these demonstrations, the rise in wages is also one of the demands of the trade unions.

Public transport is disrupted in some cities.

REPORTAGE

Retirement is making a comeback in the public debate.

The reform, which plans to postpone the legal age of departure to 64 or 65, is in the sights of trade unions.

Faced with this, the CGT, FSU and Solidaires, called for a strike everywhere in France on Thursday, September 29.

If all were not present at these demonstrations, like the CFDT, they announce all the same to be opposed to this reform imposed by the government.

A reform "contrary to the general interest"

Public transport traffic disrupted, mobilization of the various professions... All the major cities of France responded to the call of the unions.

This is the case of Marseille where several thousand people were present in the procession.

For the leaders of the organizations, as for Frédéric, present during the demonstration within the Marseille city, this reform is described as "the stubbornness of Emmanuel Macron".

“An independent body such as the Pensions Orientation Council (COR) explains that there is no problem with funding the pay-as-you-go pension. It is contrary to the general interest and to what has been built for years so that it is no longer a sign of abandonment and difficulties", specifies Frédéric.

Wage hike demanded

The opposition to the pension reform is not the only claim of the various unions.

The question of purchasing power and the decline of the public service are debated throughout the mobilization.

Subjects that would be linked according to Kader Douanier, a protester from the Marseille procession.

"I know several colleagues who enter the public service with a baccalaureate plus two or three and who will earn 1,600 euros per month. Today, being a civil servant is not a dream and it is a reality", is indignant. -he.

If several hundred rallies are planned in France, the main one takes place in Paris where the police expect to see between 3,000 and 6,000 people marching.
