Boxholm and Söderköping are among the municipalities in the county that applied for a temporary state grant to bring the economy into balance.

In the first decision round, they drew 10, but on September 21 Boxholm received 10.8 million.

When the contribution was not received at the beginning of the month, the chairman of the municipal board in Boxholm, Claes Sjökvist (S), responded as follows in an email:

"It's sad that we were left without, but at the same time, with this application, we have called in the work we can do ourselves to improve our economy in the long term."

The targeted state grant is a total of SEK 750 million and 23 municipalities and 5 regions have applied for money.

Two decision rounds have now been taken and the last one will take place on 25 October.
