The Publishing Advisory Council of the Dubai Media Council held a meeting chaired by the Vice-President of the Dubai Media Council, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, during which they reviewed the strategic plan for the development of the publishing sector at the emirate level, its work mechanisms, and its organizational and operational frameworks, in line with the general strategy of the Dubai Media Council and the directives of His Highness. During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in the presence of the Chairman of the Consultative Council for Publishing, Salem Butti Balioha, and members of the Council, they reviewed ways to promote publishing content within the media system in Dubai according to effective economic foundations, thus contributing to the development of new paths that support the growth of the economy. The media center in Dubai is based on a competitive basis, in addition to focusing on attracting, preparing and training national cadres and working to raise their competencies and refine their professional skills through specialized training programs in cooperation with the largest academic bodies and international media institutions.

The meeting also reviewed the policies and future work mechanisms to ensure the desired qualitative shift for the advancement of the publishing sector in Dubai to ensure the provision of the best media materials of high quality, whether at the level of visual or audio media, as well as print and digital, in addition to providing competitive and diversified media services, enhancing the position of Dubai and the UAE are within the media sector, and contribute to shaping the future, in accordance with the strategic plans adopted by the Dubai Media Council in this regard, which aim to unify the efforts of Dubai media in order to adopt a comprehensive vision and an effective strategy at the local, regional and international media levels.

During the meeting, Al-Marri listened to an explanation from the Chairman of the Consultative Council for Publishing about the council’s future work plan, in accordance with the directives of the Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, by setting plans related to preserving national talent, drawing up development programs for talent, organizing the relationship between workers in the publishing sector, and working on plans that contribute to serving the approved strategies. From the Dubai Media Council, as well as providing consultations, studies, work mechanisms and recommendations to the Dubai Media Council, and studying the economic and advertising feasibility and sources of income for the publishing sector in line with Dubai’s future directions and the country’s national agenda in general.

Al Marri appreciated the efforts made by the members of the Advisory Council for Publishing to develop the publishing sector within the Dubai media system in accordance with the strategies adopted by the Dubai Media Council in order to achieve the highest levels of leadership and excellence and in line with Dubai’s aspirations for the future and contribute to the development of the media economy in Dubai and increase its contribution as a new tributary to the economy emirate.
