Uppsala's students were hit hard by the restrictions of the pandemic.

Canceled activities, remote studies and calls to keep a good distance from each other.

But whether the calls were followed - that is another matter.

- Yes, there was the occasional house party, which of course was not very good, says student Ava Rimdahl.

Worst in the class

College and university students from all the Nordic countries and Great Britain participate in the extensive survey based on questionnaires.

The result is clear: Swedish students have been the worst at following the pandemic restrictions.

While roughly 75 percent of the UK's students say they have followed the restrictions, just under half of the Swedish students answer the same.

Young men worse than the rest

Among the Swedish students, however, there were three groups that were stated to have been somewhat more careful than the rest, namely women, older students and people who, when self-assessing, described their anxiety about the covid infection as high.

According to researcher Miia Bask, there was also a fourth criterion that caused students to sharpen their minds:

- Yes, when the death toll was high, slightly more people followed the set restrictions, she says.
