The President of the State visits the National Museum in Muscat

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, visited the Omani National Museum in the capital, Muscat, as part of his visit to the sisterly Sultanate of Oman.

Upon his arrival at the National Museum, His Highness was received by the Secretary-General of the National Museum, Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moussawi, and senior officials of the Museum.

His Highness said in a tweet on Twitter: "I visited the National Museum in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman today. I was pleased to learn about its rich holdings and its various sections. A distinguished Arab cultural edifice that calls for pride and embodies the ancient Omani history, and expresses the cultural renaissance experienced by the Sultanate."

During his tour, His Highness was briefed on the museum's corridors and sections, and stopped at a number of corners and halls, including the "Sultan Qaboos bin Said Corner", which displays a group of personal belongings and gifts presented to the late leaders of countries, including the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. , may God rest his soul, who gifted him a model of the Al-Hosn Palace and a sword, in addition to the different dimensions of the personality of Sultan Qaboos (may God have mercy on him), and his vital role in supporting peace in the world.

His Highness also visited a special corner of the Louvre Museum - Abu Dhabi, as part of the cooperation between the National Museums of Oman and the Louvre.

His Highness listened to an explanation from the museum’s organizers about its history and mission, which aims to spread the ancient civilization of Oman, preserve the evidence and material and moral holdings that make up the Sultanate’s history, heritage, culture and arts, and highlight the civilizational, historical and cultural dimensions of it, while employing the best practices and standards used in the areas of management. Museum and collections management, display and visitor services.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wrote a speech in the register of senior visitors, in which he said: “I was very happy to visit the National Museum in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, and I enjoyed learning about its rich and precious holdings that embody the nobility of the Omani people, its long history and what the Sultanate has undertaken under the leadership of my brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who is very interested in culture within the comprehensive development system that it enjoys..
