“Animals probably caused three explosions of land mines near the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP),” the RIA Novosti agency quoted the statement.
It is specified that the explosions did not cause significant damage to the station.
Nevertheless, the agency stressed, the risks of a nuclear catastrophe at the facility remain.
Earlier, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that he had held talks with the head of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev on the creation of a security zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
