It was in April earlier this year that the Riksdag voted to carry out a census.

The proposal was hammered through with a margin of one vote, even though it actually lacked a majority.

The reason for this turned out to be a mistake by the then Social Democratic Member of Parliament Ibrahim Baylans.

For Politikbyrån, his neighbor in the chamber tells about the misprint.

- You have to be a little on your toes if you say that.

It goes very very fast.

You can say that he discovered it himself about a second and a half too late, says the former Member of Parliament Richard Herrey (M).

How did he react?

- He said "no no no no no", says Herrey with a laugh.

The Social Democrats' press service stated to SVT after the mistake that Ibrahim Baylan submitted a so-called declaration of intent to the Riksdag's chamber office - however, this does not affect the decision.

- I poked Baylan quite a few times after that.

I told him just follow me from now on.
