Japan exempts citizens of the country from visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports

After the launch of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and Japan by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE's special envoy to Japan, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, and the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yoshimasa Hayashi, signed the document of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber stressed that the UAE and Japan have well-established and developed strategic relations, and enjoy the support and patronage of the leaderships of the two friendly countries in order to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples for further prosperity, progress and development, and to promote sustainable economic and social growth.

The strategic partnership agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries to serve common interests, by encouraging more diplomatic, economic, political, trade and investment partnerships.

The main areas of the partnership include cooperation in the political and diplomatic field, including bilateral and multilateral cooperation, in addition to cooperation in the provision of development and humanitarian assistance, and cooperation in the field of economy, trade, energy and industry by enhancing the business environment for trade and investment in all sectors, such as industry, technology, and infrastructure. Artificial intelligence, healthcare, SMEs and other priority areas, in addition to agriculture, environment, climate change, education, science and technology, defense and security.

Japan also announced that UAE citizens will be exempted from entry visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports, and the date of the exemption will be announced during the coming period.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber stressed the depth of the distinguished relations of friendship and joint cooperation between the UAE and Japan, as the two countries celebrate fifty years of distinguished diplomatic relations.

He also stressed that Japan's announcement to exempt the country's citizens from entry visas is the result of the efforts of the Emirati diplomacy under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and that this step contributes to facilitating cooperation and transportation, and will encourage increased tourism, cultural and academic exchanges, in addition to Finding new cooperation opportunities to establish business, trade and investment.
