The crackdown was carried out on Tuesday in Rennes, Nantes and Ardèche by the judicial police with the support of the research and intervention brigade.
Eight people, seven men and a woman aged 16 to 37, were arrested as part of the investigation into shootings that had targeted police in Rennes, we learned from the public prosecutor.
The scene took place on June 24 in the Maurepas district.
While patrolling by bicycle near a deal point where shots had just broken out, three police officers had been targeted by a burst of automatic weapon fire in the middle of the afternoon.
Miraculously, none of them was injured, the three agents having had the reflex to throw themselves to the ground to protect themselves.
An outbreak of violence in the neighborhood in June
This episode followed several scenes of extreme violence that shook the Maurepas district in June.
On June 13, a 28-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed in the heart.
A few days earlier, an individual had already been stabbed in the neighborhood and an apartment had been riddled with bullets.
Placed in a police station, the eight suspects are accused of attempted murder of persons holding public authority, attempted organized murder and participation in a criminal association.
“Details will be given at the end of the life guards in progress”, specifies Philippe Astruc.
