Two men were intercepted at the Millau viaduct (Aveyron) toll booth with just over 119 kg of cannabis pollen in their vehicle;
They were to be tried in immediate appearance on Monday but one of them, the youngest, asked for a delay to prepare his defense.
The hearing has therefore been postponed until October 10.
The two defendants were remanded in custody pending trial.
The oldest, father of four children, one of whom is a policeman and the other is at the police academy, proclaims his innocence.
