Fagersta municipality has been paying variable electricity prices since January 1, something Fagersta-Posten reported on.

Now there are warnings of record high electricity prices this winter, but this year's electricity budget for Fagersta municipality is already used up.

There is now a dialogue between NVK and the municipality to urgently reduce electricity consumption.

- We are very worried about how the price trend looks and what impact it will have, says Oscar Bogren, property manager at NVK.

Oscar Bogren tells SVT Nyheter Västmanland that measures are being discussed in all activities in the municipality.

Sports facilities such as Fagerliden's ice rink and Fagerstahallen use a lot of electricity, and measures such as turning off the lighting in spaces that are not in use may be relevant there.

Could it be relevant to bind you to a fixed electricity contract?

- Not as it looks right now, says Oscar Bogren.

In the clip, Oscar Bogren explains why the municipality continued to have a variable electricity contract.
