Groups of settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli occupation police on the second day of what is known as the Jewish New Year from the Mughrabi Gate, for the third day in a row.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the occupation prevents the arrival of buses of worshipers from inside the Green Line to Jerusalem.

He added that the Inspector General of the Israeli Police stormed Al-Aqsa with a group of occupation police officers, stressing that the occupation forces attacked a group of women stationed in the courtyards of the mosque.

And the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), quoting the Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, reported that dozens of settlers in the form of successive groups stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and performed racist Talmudic rituals and provocative tours, under the strict protection of the occupation police, on the second day of the Jewish New Year holiday.

The Islamic Endowments added that the Commissioner-General of the Israeli Police, Kobi Shabtai, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by a large number of Israeli officers, for a short period.

"Wafa" indicated that the occupation forces launched a drone over Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with the settlers' incursions.

Large forces of the occupation police and special forces have been deployed since this morning, in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in preparation for securing these incursions.

Israeli extremist groups called for large numbers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of the Jewish New Year holiday, which fell on Monday.

The occupation police also reinforced its forces inside the Old City and at the entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque and imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers, preventing those under the age of 40 from entering and performing prayers in the mosque.

This and a group of young men inside the Qibli Mosque and dozens of worshipers and stationed in the courtyards to confront the incursions.

For its part, the Israeli occupation authorities said that they arrested 14 Palestinian citizens in different neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem last night and at dawn today.

The Hebrew Radio reported that these arrests came against the backdrop of sporadic confrontations, especially in the Al-Tur neighborhood and the town of Silwan, and included closing some roads with waste containers, setting them on fire, launching fireworks and throwing stones at the police and army forces.

The occupation forces fired stun grenades and tear gas at the Palestinians, who went out to confront the intrusion.

The towns of Al-Isawiya, Al-Tur, and Silwan witnessed confrontations in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque, after imposing restrictions on the entry of worshipers to it, carrying out attacks on them and allowing settlers to storm it.
