Investigators searched the yacht of a Russian entrepreneur near Bremen on Tuesday.
This was confirmed by the public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt am Main when asked.
Apparently the action was directed against the Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.
The ship is the luxury yacht "Dilbar".
60 officers were involved in the search, according to a statement from the Attorney General's Office.
In an investigation against a 69-year-old businessman from the Russian Federation, the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor and the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in cooperation with the Munich II public prosecutor's office searched a motor yacht in northern Germany, according to the statement by the public prosecutor's office.
The luxury yacht was detained in April on the basis of EU sanctions over the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine.
The allegedly most expensive yacht in the world with a value of more than 500 million euros was subject to a ban on disposal and may therefore “no longer be sold, rented or encumbered”, as a spokesman for the BKA said at the time.
Last week, among other things, a villa attributed to Usmanow in the posh holiday resort of Rottach-Egern on Tegernsee in Bavaria was searched.
On February 28, the EU put Usmanov on the sanctions list on the grounds that Usmanov was “a pro-Kremlin oligarch with particularly close ties” to Putin.
The imprisoned Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny also had Usmanov
associated with plentiful property ownership.
The EU particularly emphasized that Usmanov's newspaper "Kommersant" last autumn published a hate article by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev against Ukraine, whose leadership is not worth talking to.
In this way, the destabilization of the neighboring country was supported.
