His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, offered condolences on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, to the widow of former Prime Minister Akie Abe and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, during His Highness visited the Akasaka Hospitality Palace in Tokyo.

His Highness was accompanied during the visit by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE's special envoy to Japan, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the country's ambassador to Japan, Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan headed the country's delegation participating in the funeral ceremony in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in the presence of a number of world leaders and leaders.

His Highness conveyed the condolences of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to the Japanese government.

His Highness also met the widow of the late Aki Abe, and a number of family members, where he offered their condolences, expressing his sincere sympathy for the loss of a leader who devoted his life to serving his country and people with dedication and sincerity.

This funeral is the largest official memorial for a government official since the funeral of former Prime Minister Yoshida Shige-ro, in 1965, when the late enjoyed wide popularity, after he spent the longest term as prime minister in the history of Japan, which lasted from 2012 to 2020, and he passed away. At the age of 67, he succumbed to his injuries, after he was shot during an election rally on July 8. 

 Shinzo Abe contributed greatly to the consolidation of Emirati-Japanese relations.
