China News Service, September 27 (Reuters) - Negotiators for a temporary spending bill in the U.S. Congress have agreed to provide Ukraine with nearly $12 billion in new military and economic aid, people familiar with the matter said on the 26th local time. Bipartisan U.S. support for the Kyiv government continues.

On February 10, local time, a U.S. plane delivered military aid to Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv, Ukraine.

  The report quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that in response to requests from the administration of U.S. President Biden, $4.5 billion of the funds will be used to provide Ukraine with defense capabilities and equipment; $2.7 billion will be used to continue to provide military, intelligence and other defense support ; $4.5 billion to continue direct budget support to the Kyiv government in the next quarter, among others.

  U.S. President Joe Biden earlier this month asked Congress to provide Ukraine with $11.7 billion in new emergency military and economic aid in a temporary spending bill.

  According to reports, the US Congress may pass the spending bill before the 30th local time, and the bill will also temporarily provide funds for a series of US government projects.
